Farmyard

Animal Fence

Snettisham Park is very much an all round farm experience. We are a working farm, so there is always lots to see and do. There are many activities you can get involved in, whether it's feeding, stroking, grooming or egg collecting, a trip to Snettisham Park is a very hands on experience!

The Farmyard gets very muddy during Autumn/Winter so please remember your wellies! Children will love to get close to all our animals and must be supervised by an adult at all times.

We welcome well behaved dog on leads within the farmyard.

Snettisham Park holds a BCKLWN license for our animal activities, is Fable registered and KIWA Approved. Visitors are informed upon arrival on health and safety and the need for correct handwashing procedures. A visitor guide leaflet is given with relevant instructions, maps and all necessary information.

Goats

Goats

The Park has different types of cross bred miniature goats which will appreciate you saying hello to them during your visit. Just make sure you buy some goat nuts from the Visitors Centre before heading down the farmyard or you might find your jacket is next on the menu.

Pigs

Pigs

The farm usually has a piglet or two. They will stay with us for several months until they are too large for our farm. They are very cute and grow very quickly.

Sheep Dog Nel

Sheep Dog Nel

During your visit you can meet our working sheep dog 'Nel'. You may be able to see her work whilst you are here. Nel loves to play football with our younger visitors when she's not out working with the sheep.

Pigs

Guinea Pigs & Rabbits

We have several cute little guinea pigs. They love our visitors and squeak when they see people coming into the barn. During our opening times, our furry friends stay in their hutches inside the barn to keep them feeling safe. We have got two beautiful rabbits called Shadow and Amber, Shadow is was rescued but is very friendly and Amber is very lively.

Tortoises

Tortoises

Come and meet our gracious tortoises Trevor (aged 85 years), Terry (aged 45 years) and Archie (age unknown). Terry loves to wander around the play area. He loves dandelions if you can find any to pick. Trevor is very laid back and has the typically slow statue that you would expect from a gentleman his age! Archie (who was recently donated to Snettisham Park), is very fast and a master at 'pea football'. Our Tortoises hibernate from late October right the way through till March/April once the weather has warmed up.

Feed The Calves

Feed The Calves

Come and meet our calves - see how gentle and inquisitive they are! You can watch them being fed during the afternoon. All our calves were born on other farms but it is up to us to rear them. The calves are fed on artificial milk powder similar to the lambs. Most of our calves have been bred from Friesian dairy cows and their fathers are mainly Charolais or Simmental bulls.

Shetland Ponies

Shetland Ponies

Our Shetland ponies are friendly and love to be groomed and fussed over. They are very gentle and are great with children. They are fantastic at teaching children how to ride and are patient with them.

Egg Collecting

Help us collect and grade our Snettisham Park eggs. Why not purchase some in our Visitor Centre to take home - they don't come much fresher than that!

All our hens are Rhode Island Reds and each one will lay around 300 eggs each year so there are plenty of eggs to collect every day. After collecting the eggs learn how our egg grading machine works.
